[edit] Character Titles
Earth Mother, Mother of the Gods, Queen of Inshar
[edit] Character Description
You are the Mother, the one who bears new gods. Others may have children, but they are less interesting than the ones you produce. If you had your way, though, none would have any children but you, as it is your place.
You also are the Earth. The ground beneath you flourishes, the people who worship you prosper. You help them increase and protect them from harm. Bhagani, the Crone, was once you, and you know that Hua, your Virgin Daughter, will someday become her. The further away this day is, the happier you will be. You wonder, if it is in your power to stop this cycle. You believe if anyone could break it, it would be Jhuang Jho, the Cosmic Alchemist. Perhaps there is some potion she can devise. Or perhaps, if you had a child with her, this child could aid you somehow? To this end, you have cultivated a friendship with her.
Snorri was your most recent love, and you are still fond of him. However, you wish to find a new lover, as you would not stay with one after having a child with them. Having two children with the same god would be akin to marrying them! And that was what that annoying Nirmala did, not you. There still are many interesting gods to chose from.
Zorumuz, the Sun God, is one of the older gods. He and you have known each other for many cycles and never been close, which makes him all the more appealing. He is passionate, and reckless, and would be a challenge for you. Now he seems more powerful than ever.
Nidram, Lord of Dream, does not speak. He has given you visions in the past, some of the suggestive sort, but you have never taken him up on his unspoken proposition. However, it probably would be pleasant, as you know he is creative.
Nahunte, the Tree of Peace, has never attracted you physically, as she is a tree, But you were curious, and attempted to have a child with her.
Khet, the god of Glyphs, is articulate and attractive. He has made quite a positive impact on the world with his writing. You are pleased to have had a child with him. A lotus blossom sprung forth from your naval, and a butterfly appeared. You cast the blossom off, but the butterfly grew, and became Zero Yellow Butterflies.
However, soon afterwards, Khet disappeared. Your only clue to his disappearance is that he said he was going to go meet with someone privately. He seemed reticent to say who, and you didn't press it. But now you are concerned.
Your child from Araxara was born immediately after he ate the poison. You named the child Set, as you were running low on good names.
These two new children ease your sadness at losing two others, but not enough. You wished the world to suffer, and so caused an eternal winter to fall upon the land. The oceans froze, and the land became barren. Perhaps it is this hardship that dealt the final blow to the Oesman. They are completely gone. A strange new culture has appeared though, the Maxcan. No one seems to know where they come from.
You are pregnant with a third child, Eliahu, who you will bear shortly. However, your children with the Tree and with Jhuang Jho have not been born to you. You are not sure if something went wrong, or if perhaps the new gods are somehow your children, or if something else entirely different has happened.
[edit] Lineage
When Death defeated GAIUS, Titan of the Primal Earth, she drank deeply of his hidden essences. When the first Dawn came, and creation began, she bore you, the Mother of the Gods. You are the new GAIUS, one that is amenable to life.
[edit] Children
You have many many children. Sometimes you loose count of how many. Important ones:
- Hua - You grew jealous of Nirmala, the "Good Wife", who was intruding onto your territory. Furthermore, She had married your sibling, Zormuz, whom you fear. Deciding that it would be best to stop him from gaining any more power, you asked Death for aid. She lured Nirmala to the Underworld with a crystal necklace - there you waited, and swallowed her whole. But you found you could not return to the Heavens after this heavy meal. After many many cycles of being in the Underworld, you realized that you had become pregnant - and out of you emerged Hua, the Virgin Goddess! But now, she is gone! Destroyed by the Scorpion!
- Sebok - There was a time when Mother Death would not let any souls leave her realm. So you went to the edges of the world, looking for an answer. There you met a great handsome serpent, who gave you a child - Sebok. Sebok discovered his destiny was to be the Judge in his grandmother's realm, and thus, the balance was restored.
- Aenir - A handsome stranger who had no name arrived in Inshar one day. You thought he was a Faerie or a Demon, but he was far too intriguing. He could not remember who he was, and so you gave him a name - "Snorri". The two of you had a child together, who enjoyed exploring GAIUS. Snorri later became instrumental to the formation of the Oesmen, the newest culture.
- Shiyatumu - Vayasa, the Lord of Breath, chased you around for quite sometime before you agreed to be his lover. The Eagle was your child. What a nice responsible goddess!
- Dusares - Is not your child at all. But you are kind to her, as it was you that orphaned her.
- Set - your new child with Araxara.
- Zero Yellow Butterflies - your child with Khet
- Eliahu - to be born soon, your child with Kirirish
