Shiyatumu, The Loyal Eyes

[edit] Character Description

You are the Watcher, the Eagle, who sits on the branches of the Tree of Peace. From that vantage point, you can see much of what goes on in the world.

There is always much to observe. New Gods come into existence, and their purpose must be discovered. There are dark forces which are constantly trying to become free, and you watch for signs of their presence at all times. You will be the one who warns others. You will be the one who sees first.

You have spent much time deciding who among the Divine Society is worthy of trust. There are few who are unequivocally trustworthy. However, there are some things you are sure of.

  • Saddai, the Sea, holds many secrets, but tells few. She would not betray trust if it was given to her.
  • Sebok, the Crocodile of Judgment, is harsh, but stands by his word. Also, if he was told of something which was wrong, he would act.
  • The Tree of Peace is a good friend, and can be trusted on most matters. She, like you, truly wants what is best for this world.
  • Aenir, your brother, is an explorer and loves to discover new places. In some ways, he is like you, a pair of far-seeing eyes. You can trust him to report the interesting things he sees on his travels, and you often go with him.

For now, you sit on the tree and watch. Much seems to be changing. There is talk of choosing a leader of gods, of abolishing masks, and even of starting a new war. Soon, it will be time to report what you see, and then, perhaps, will be a time for action.

You are saddened that you did not discover soon enough that the Scorpion had taken over your dear brother. You are sorry for the loss, and feel guilty that you did not see what had happened. Now the Scorpion and Spider fight upon the world, and there is little you can do about it.

Demons, too, have been unleashed upon the world. Many of them, more than you have ever seen before. All of the portents are evil.

The world has descended into Winter. Others think this is caused by the fighting - and you concede that is possible - but you believe it may be a god that is causing this also. You would warn the other gods, but you no longer know who to trust.

The new god, Eliahu worries you also. He says he brings balance. But what does that mean? There is no balance in the world now.

The Oesman culture has been completely destroyed. However, a new culture has appeared, the Maxcan. Others believe they are the remains of the Oesman, but you believe they split from the Nokomi. They are not a pleasant culture - they sacrifice often, and are very bloody. You wish them to be far away from your people, the Nokomi. Your people are doing well, despite the Maxca, but you still are pensive.

You have a difficult job ahead of you. You are better at seeing than acting, and yet, you sense that acting is necessary.

[edit] Lineage

You are the child of Tanat, Earth Mother, and Vayasa, Sky Father. You are quite fond of both of your parents, though closer to your father, as he is much less busy than Tanat.

[edit] Children

You have not had children, and you do not think you are ready yet.

[edit] Guides

You can guide the Nokomi and Oesmen cultures.

[edit] Goals

  1. Discover which god is bringing winter to the land.
  2. Watch the Scorpion and Spider battle, and let the other gods know how it is going.
  3. Help the Nokomi continue to prosper
  4. Watch out for that new culture, the Maxca. They seem bad.
  5. Keep a watchful eye on everyone that's suspicious, and report back to those your trust. It's your place, after all.
