Sunseeker... 'course I knew him. Didn't talk much, and he was the kind you didn't press for more than he was willing to offer. But there was one time... Heh heh. *cough* Yeah.

It was back in that first year. We were sitting around the campfire, and Slick -- Six-Gun Quintillus, they call him now -- he was hassling Sunseeker about his name.

Usually those two would come to blows, or near enough, anyway. But this one time, Sunseeker got all thoughtful. 'Slick,' he said. 'I will tell you of the man who used to be, before he became dead to his people and Sunseeker took his place. Then you will understand, and maybe, though I am doubtful, you will be less of a fool.'

There was silence, all eyes on him. He kinda had that effect on you. So he went on: 'This story begins far away and many years ago, in the heart of the lands of my people. A young warrior set out with friends and allies on a quest of penance into the ruins of the Ancient world. Few expected him to return. Not all even wished him to. And even fewer expected him to bring back the power that would save his people.

'Yet he did. And this is how it went ...'

The Story of Sunseeker is a tabletop one-shot "prequel" to the current Orphans campaign, concerning itself with the mysterious past of Paul F.'s character in a world uncounted generations after the fall of 21st century civilization. What happens in the course of the one-shot will influence, in part, events in the ongoing campaign, though no prior exposure to Orphans is necessary to play.
