You've seen the Men In Black movie, right? No, not the piece of commercialized tripe that is Men In Black 2; we're talking about the original movie. That was the one we sent into Hollywood. You know, that's the last time I send 'H' to handle anything that requires reading. I bet ne never even noticed the sequel subclause in Sony's contract....but where was I? Right.
MiB: Soldiers of the Slightly Purple is set only few weeks after the movie, in 1997. As far as everyone is concerned, the Men In Black still have control of the Third Galaxy, and negotiations for the Galaxy are once again underway between the Arquillians and Baltians (although things have been a little rocky already, but don't get me started). The negotiations are taking place in Providence, R.I. at the Biltmore Hotel (Wilson Hall).
To the outside world, the hotel appears to just be hosting some conventions (a few corporations, a "Roswell Reunion", the usual). To the rest of the galaxy, these negotiations are a true test of Earth's mettle. (And flammability, if the MiB aren't too careful...)...And to us, the real Men in Black, its a secret test to find new recruits, disguised as a game. But you will never believe that, which is exactly how we like it.
Oh, and I should mention that there's bound to be a million other things going on at the Biltmore that weekend, with the Galaxy negotiations just being one small aspect of the evening. Although I should warn you, the Galaxy is on a lot of people's minds. After all, EVERYONE would love to get their hands on the largest source of sub-atomic energy in the known universe. And after all, you can't put that many agents, human, and alien
