[edit] Character Titles

The Divine Architect, Lord of Bricks

[edit] Character Description

In the Beginning, mortals moved from place to place, living under trees, or in caves, or under the open sky. It was hard for them. They were not sheltered from the elements, and many suffered under angry storms and hungry animals. Then you changed that. You devised the Brick.

With this Brick, Men began to build. They created houses, temples, towers, bridges, castles. They began to live in cities. Protected from the elements, they did not have to worry about the cold rains. Protected from animals, they were no longer hunted. The only force in nature they were still unprotected from was other men.

And so they devised boundaries, so that all men would know where his own land began and another man's ended. These were devised to keep order, to stop quarrels. But these boundaries also isolated them from one another. Walls kept neighbors from seeing each others faces. And so men, who did not know their neighbors, grew jealous. Wars were fought. Buildings crumbled.

Everything you build falls down eventually. It is often due to Srasha, the Warlike one. You are saddened by this, and would seek some peace with her.

But sadder still are your own personal feelings. You build walls to keep yourself safe, and then find that safety is not enough. You can build anything in creation, and yet, you cannot build love.

Until that fateful day, when the One Who Is Yet To Come came to you, and asked if you would be his father. You agreed, and together, you and Tanat have created a child. You are very proud of him. You've longed for a child for so many aeons! You wish to help him in all that you can.

You are worried about the world, however. The Scorpion and the Spider would not stop fighting, and both have gone into the world to continue their battle. It's caused wars among the people of the land. It needs to stop, somehow.

Also worrisome is that GAIUS has been cold for a long time. It usually is winter, and then spring, and then summer, and then autumn, but though it is hard for you to keep track, it seems to you that this winter has been especially long. You're not sure if it's being created by the Scorpion battle or by other forces, but whatever it is, it is very bad for the people.

[edit] Lineage

Lord Dream and Nirmala, the Good Goddess, were married after the Battles of Creation were over. You were borne to help rebuild GAIUS.

[edit] Children

You tried to have children, but no other God seems to be willing! *sigh*

[edit] Guides

You can guide any culture, except of course, the foul Anaya. Such is the power of the Builder.

[edit] Goals

  1. Find out why the world is so cold.
  2. Oppose the Awful Sisters (Death and the Spider). Don't be rude to them, because you know that they are very dangerous!
  3. Support your child
  4. Stop the Spider and Scorpion from fighting
  5. Return stability to Swarha and GAUIS.

[edit] Opinions

  • Amurru: A good for nothing scoundrel brother!
  • Ba Neb: He's wonderful.
  • Bhagani: The Death Crone terrifies you.
  • Dusares: The most beautiful star in the Heavens! Oh if she would notice you?
  • Jhuang Jho: You barely know the goddess of beverages. But you could get to know her better over time, you're sure.
  • Khet: You two frequently work together.
  • Kujuju Myoo: So musically talented. You had thought you could create songs for her. But it never quite worked out.
  • Maakshika: She has tempted you many time with her wiles, but has never gone through with anything. Sigh.
  • Nidram: Your father. He gives you so much inspiration.
  • Saddai: A woman full of mysteries, that you wish you could solve.
  • Srasha: You two have had a history of disagreements, but when you work together, miracles happen.
  • Tanat: So lovely, and kind, and has so many children, but none with you!
  • Tree of Peace: The Tree fills your soul with calm.
  • Vayasa: A respectable older god
  • Watching Eagle: The Eagle has watched you often, and you wonder what she thinks of you.
  • Yoskeha: You built her pens for her cattle, and she tore them down. She avoids you now, and it leaves a hole in your heart.
  • Zormuz: The Leader of your Pantheon, he possesses great power and insight.

[edit] Handsize and Powers

  • Handsize: 8
  • Seal of Mortar
    • You may brick up one of the Heavens (but not the vault.) Spend one minute role-playing assembling this wall. For the remainder of the cycle, no one may enter or leave that Heaven, but they may speak through the wall. They may not initiate challenges through the wall, in general. You may only use this power once a Cycle, and it expends your Rune of Brick.
  • Heart of Stone
    • You may play Diamonds as if they were Hearts.
  • Craft the Heavenly Palace
    • You may make a new Heaven. Once.
  • Craft the Earthly Palace
    • You gain a free Prosper action every Cycle. You may also use this action to change one type of world-tile to another, excluding ruins and sea. You must control a culture on this tile.
  • Anvil Fist
    • If you win a duel, your opponent is knocked unconscious for ten minutes.
  • Strength of the Smith
    • You may lift with double strength, although you may only carry one object in each hand.
  • Trade Talk
    • If you talk with someone about building things for five minutes, you may make a Diamonds challenge to force them to avoid you for the remainder of the Cycle.
