Lord of the Glyph, the Divine Quill

[edit] Character Description

Writing is your domain. You discovered the way to make thoughts permanent, and have spread this idea to every culture in GAIUS. Now it is your mission to write down all that you see, such that it will never be forgotten.

Mortals, because of their brief time in existence, quickly realized the power of the written word. Many of the Gods, however, still do not see what use it has. You have had many discussions about why it is invaluable, but it frustrates you that some still treat writing as a cute afterthought, rather than a powerful skill.

One of your victories occurred when Sebok, the Crocodile of Judgment, came to you for aid. He had many years seen similar souls, again and again, and each time, he had to weigh them anew. He came to you asking if you could help him with this somehow. You created a Book for him, where he could write out the name of the soul, and whether it was worthy or not. Ever since that day, Sebok has been an outspoken proponent of the value of writing.

Snorri, the god of Sagas, has become a close associate of yours. He too shares your goal of documenting all that exists in Creation. Specifically, he is trying to make a History of The Gods. He originally had thought to memorize this history, and tell it as a long story. You have convinced him that it is best written down. Together you have spent many cycles composing a great poem, which someday will include all that has ever occurred.

Recently, you have spent some time with Beauty herself. With her inspiration, you have invented a new writing style, calligraphy.

[edit] Lineage

Lhakim, Lord of Thought, was being attacked by Srasha, the Beast of War. In a desperate attempt to preserve some of his essence, he wrote the First Words, and thus you sprang into existence. Unfortunately, Lhakim was slaughtered.

[edit] Children

You have not had any time to have children, as you're busy with your library. Constantly.

[edit] Guides

You can guide any culture.

[edit] Goals

  1. Support Sebok as the Head-God. Do not anger too many other Gods, however - it's not worth it.
  2. Make sure that Masks are not eliminated. You are quite fond of them.
  3. Help Snorri finish his Divine History.
  4. Try to have something awful happen to Srasha. You hate him, and are still bitter that he killed your father.
  5. Discover more about the Nature of the COSMOS.
  6. Discover who is truly the Messiah - it's not you, you know.
  7. Perhaps it is time to have a Child.
