Located just a few hours off the interstate, the Harvest Hill Trailer Park Community is a collection of wheel-less Winnebagos and converted '40s vintage airplane hulls. Once-mobile homes dot the hillside in a pattern more closely resembling the scribbling of some mad child than the orderly rows of homes that Middle America has come to expect these last few decades.
But then again, Harvest Hill isn't too concerned with what people expect of this "new" America. Folks have been living in these parts for longer than just a few decades. They respect tradition, custom - their own etiquette, if you will.
They embrace the old ways.
What better example could there be than the annual Sweet Pea festival? The last festival of the year before the cold of the winter takes hold. It's coming time again... time again that the people of the trailer park come together to celebrate a pleasant Fall... the Fall Harvest, that is.
As usual, more than a few out-of-towners have drifted in. Events like these don't happen all the time, you see, but when they do, there are all kinds of folk that can't resist putting in an appearance. There will be food and dancing... maybe even a little romancin'. Local politics will be discussed and plenty of philosophizing will be had. The occasional buffet-side brawl might break out, but so long as you don't look up the clouds won't be too threatening.
By the end of the night most people will have drifted off back to their trailers, or to the local motel... and everything will be just as it should be by morning.
Except tonight is the Last Festival...
